Revenue Retriever can be implemented in two different ways: either for offline analysis only, or fully integrated with Provet Cloud to provide real time checking and autocorrect of customer invoices. This article describes the process for the second scenario, using Revenue Retriever with full Provet Cloud integration.

Set parameters for analysis and checking, using Revenue Retriever rules.
-
Revenue Retriever gives you the option of creating rules yourself, or it can use pattern-matching functionality to generate smart rules to get you started. This smart rule functionality is currently in limited release and may not be available in your instance.
- Add rules for analysis and live checking. How to add rules manually.
- If you have been given access to the smart rules functionality, Revenue Retriever will analyses your historic data and based on the patterns it observes, proposes a number of rules. Practice or group managers need to review these proposals and select those that make sense to analyse and focus on. How to review and configure smart rules.

Configure benchmark figures, autocorrect settings and prompts for staff
- Not all rules are applicable all of the time, due to procedural variations, professional judgement or customer choice. Revenue Retriever takes this into account by reporting against benchmark figures, which set your expected attainment level for each rule. The initial benchmark is set at the historic attainment level; you need to review and adjust these figures to reflect your expected target for each rule. How to set benchmark figures for rules.
- For those rules which are always applicable (with a benchmark of 100) you can configure Revenue Retriever to automatically add missing products to customer invoices as they are being created within your practice management system. Alternatively, if you do not set 'autocorrect' within a rule then it will only be recommended for the member of staff to add to the bill. How to configure autocorrect.
- When Revenue Retriever spots a missing product or service during a consultation, it will provide a prompt, suggesting why it thinks the vet should add that item. You can edit the prompts within each rule, so they reflect the language and tone of voice used in your practices. How to change the prompt.
- Each rule created by Revenue Retriever has a system generated name, which is used in reports and datasets. These are descriptive but not always short. To make your analysis more accessible you can give your own names to each rule. How to edit rule names.

Review and sense-check the preliminary analysis

Fine-tune analysis by adjusting prices of products and services
- Due to variations in prices over time or for other reasons, you may want to fine-tune Revenue Retriever’s analysis by manually adjusting the product prices against each rule. Manually overriding product prices in rules.
